Our Story
As a kiwi expat living in London, I do my fair share of short trips all over Europe. When I first arrived, it was hectic; I was so eager to see everything and go everywhere. And with flights with low-cost carriers like Ryanair or EasyJet as cheap as they are, it was easy for me to justify spending half my weekends outside London and the other half planning where to go next.
However, I soon realised that this kind of travel, while hugely rewarding, was exhausting. I was getting busier in London, making friends and getting the most out of this new city, so when it came to travel - booking flights, getting to and from the airport, accommodation, finding out how the public transport worked (and whether it's worth it to get a weekend pass), which neighbourhoods to explore, which ones to avoid, what food to try, and countless other questions - I got lazy and did most of my research while sitting at the airport about to board my flight. This meant that I didn't make the most out of the two days or so I was there. Several times I realised halfway through the trip that I wouldn't have time to see a particular district, or eat at a particular restaurant known to be the best at making the local dish.
It was my fault, of course. But I didn't want to visit several sites just to find out what the cheapest option for an airport transfer. I wanted a one-stop site created for people like me - weekend travellers wanting an authentic taste of the culture, vibe, sites and cuisine of a new city while having both time and budget constraints.
